Unknown location.  However, photo shows one of the ways cane was unloaded at the mills.

Perdonen la calidad de las fotos.  Fotos tomadas hace más de 30 años.  Pero tienen su valor.

Las centrales Aguirre y Mercedita estaban unidas por la Ponce & Guayama Railroad.  No intercambiaban vagones de caña por las diferentes formas de vaciarlos.   Yo vi movimientos de caña del área de la Central Mercedita hacia la Central Aguirre en vagones de Aguirre.  Central Mercedita operaba los trenes entre la central en Ponce hasta el Río Coamo en Santa Isabel.  La Central Aguirre operaba los trenes entre el Río Coamo y Arroyo.  Ver los mapas.

Centrales (sugar mills) Aguirre and Mercedita were on the Ponce & Guayama Railroad.  They did not interchange sugar cane cars because of the way they unloaded the cane.   I saw cane being moved from the area of Central Mercedita to Central Aguirre in cane cars from Aguirre.  Central Mercedita operated the trains from the mill in Ponce to the Coamo River in Santa Isabel.  Central Aguirre operated the trains from the Coamo River to the town of Arroyo.  See the maps.
