Dave ha estudiado el tema de los ferrocarriles de Puerto Rico por más de 40 años. También es un buen fotógrafo. Ha publicado varios trabajos y varios DVDs que menciono más abajo, en la parte de inglés. Este trabajo tiene fotos, identificadas, que él ha contribuido. Dave está casado con una puertorriqueña y vive en Massachusetts. Visita la Isla con frecuencia para ver familiares y amigos y continuar con sus investigaciones sobre los ferrocarriles de Puerto Rico.
Dave has been researching the railways of Puerto Rico for over 40 years. He is also a very good photographer. He has published articles and photos in Trains and Railroading magazines, and various DVDs. Among his publications he has the following: “Conservando una Romántica Tradición”, Puerto Rico’s Ferrocarril Histórico offers a ride through the cane fields behind meter gauge steam (a very nice article about the tourist railroad of Fajardo, Puerto Rico), Railroading, Number 43, second quarter, 1972, Starrucca Valley Publications , Editor and Publisher – William S. Young, Starrucca, Pennsylvania. His DVDs are: The Lost Railroads of Puerto Rico, DVD, 57 minutes, 2006 (footage covers Central Juncos, Central Aguirre, Central Fajardo, Central Mercedita, Ferrocarril Histórico and others) and Remembering the Wellsville, Addison, & Galeton, DVD, SJB Productions, Garretson, SD, 40 minutes. He has given me photos and has allowed them to be used in my web page which I have identified. He also has contributed photos to http://www.tramz.com/pr/sj.html ,The Tramways of San Juan, Puerto Rico by Allen Morrison. He is married to a Puerto Rican lady and visits Puerto Rico very frequently (he lives in Massachusetts) to see relatives and do research on the railroads of Puerto Rico.

Es extensa, y tiene 7 volúmenes. William Armstrong era un militar que a principios de los 1900s, exploró, con propósitos militares, varias área de Puerto Rico. Su trabajo incluye fotos, mapas, dibujos, de varios de los ferrocarriles de Puerto Rico. Para ver la colección, escoger “Manuscritos” y entre en la caja de “buscar” la palabra Armstrong, dale a “BUSCAR” y escoger “Manuscritos sobre algunos pueblos de Puerto Rico”.

This library of the University of Puerto Rico has a large collection of photos of the railroads and the sugar industry of Puerto Rico. It also has the “Manuscritos de William Armstrong”, (journals). It is in English and it is very extensive, 7 volumes. It was made by a soldier at the beginning of the 1900s. He explored various areas of Puerto Rico for military purposes. It includes photos, maps, data, drawings, sketches, etc., of some of the railroads of Puerto Rico. I have had a hard time to get into this page. To see the journals, go to http://bibliotecadigital.uprrp.edu/, select “Manuscritos” and in the box next to “buscar”, write “Armstrong”, click “BUSCAR”, and look for “Manuscritos sobre algunos pueblos de Puerto Rico”.
